Why did Throckmorton Collegiate ISD call a Bond?

Throckmorton Collegiate ISD is experiencing taxable valuation growth due to wind farms. As a result of that growth, the TCISD Board asked a group of community members, business owners, parents and staff to serve on a Facility Committee to review the District's facilities and financial status.

The Committee met for several months, toured the facilities and reviewed their current conditions. Several of the buildings do not meet current educational building codes and TEA requirements. The Committee recommended that the Board call a bond election on May 1, 2021, for $30 million.*
